Songs on Sunday #004: St. Vincent - Surgeon

So I completely forgot to do this yesterday. Anyway, I decided to choose a track that St Vincent have recently offered for free from their website, from their new album which is out on 12th September. I was a bit of a latecomer to St Vincent. Why? I cannot say, I blame other music out there distracting me. “Surgeon” is a fantastic track. Even in this live version it’s made so much better by watching Annie Clark’s fingers just waft by the guitar neck as the most amazingly fast melody comes out, and effortlessly, she sings along. She is one of the most talented and beautiful people in music today. Anyone fancy getting tickets to see her at the Brudenell on 16th November? It’s not as fancy as the New York Metropolitan Museum of Art of course… but it’s a mere tenner!
