Songs on Sunday #003: Neil Young - Don’t Let It Bring You Down
So this is off Neil Young’s “After The Gold Rush” which I recently bought. I knew a few of the songs, but hadn’t heard this one, and it’s becoming a favourite. I was looking for a live version and found this one. He amusingly wanders over to the audience at the start and “introduces” his guitar to them. It’s all a bit light-hearted as he tunes his guitar and begins the introductory chords. Then he sings the opening line and his awesome voice changes the mood to something much more powerful, that contrast just makes it for me. A great live version.
